Your Intentional Life

March was a big month! Between marking a year from stepping away from my corporate job, to taking a week with my family and our friends for March break, this month felt full!

As I reflect, I wanted to share with you some of the learnings that really stood out for me this month:

1) Just because it feels hard, doesn’t mean it’s impossible: I love the saying ‘we can do hard things.’ I often use this when I speak to my kids. But this 100% applies to me (and you)!

Stepping away from my corporate job, this past year, brought up lots of things for me. Feeling very vulnerable at times and pushing through the fearful, stretchy bits, I can confidently say that on the other side of the ‘hard’, those things feel good.

When I anchor into my WHY, my values and what is non-negotiable for me, these seemingly impossible tasks and steps - coupled with self-compassion and a lot of grace- can feel just light enough for me to forge ahead.

2) Baby steps are HUGE: Continuing from the learning above, so much of what I deem a success from this past year has been from a series of small baby steps strung together. Don’t underestimate the power of consistent small steps in the right direction. With my values as my anchor, I can continue to make small steps toward my big goals.

3) Being > doing: I am a pretty goal-oriented person and so it comes naturally to me to ‘do’. To follow a list of steps, or make a plan and execute.

Being, however, takes a lot more effort. Quieting down, pulling back from the lists and turning inward. What I know is that this is so important for my mind, body and soul. Not only to feel grounded and whole, but it is in this space, I have found that I feel more creative and present. It actually primes me to ‘do’ better.

In a world that tells us to push and keep doing more, 'Being' can be seen as a rebellious act. Doing less and being more is a practice for me and one that I am deeply committed to continuing.

In reflecting on your month, what might you have learned, or leaned into?

Comment below and share. I would love to hear.

Wishing you a mindful month ahead.
